This was his 300th start and he remarked that he was very pleased to give Rick and Linda Hendrick a win.

This marked Kahne’s fourth win at Charlotte. This win made up for his recent race at Pocono Raceway where he started at 10th position and moved up in the top five. He had a bad luck situation after having contact with another car resulting in Kahne leaving the track and going to the garage. This landed him at 29th place in the contest.

Kahne’s first six races were disastrous. He failed to finish better than 14th. His best performance started at Martinsville, which felt like it was a ‘turnaround’ race and then his engine blew. He improved a little in Texas with a seventh place finish.

The first victory he has scored for his new team has put Kahne in a better position on the track as well as mentally. This allows him to be able to focus on putting his team in contention for the championship. Kahne has the skill and the ability. He now has the first victory.

OK, ladies first. Born in Wisconsin, Danica Patrick is the rookie sensation of the Indy Racing League in the 7 Chevy Impala. She finished second at the Formula Ford Festival 2000, which made her the highest placing American in the race’s history. She was the fourth woman ever to drive in the Indianapolis 500 in 2005, and also the first female to ever lead in that race. She got the Indy Racing League’s Rookie of the Year award that same year.
Joey Logano is on the Joe Gibbs racing team in the 7 Toyota. Born on May 24th, 1990, he won the NASCAR nationwide series when he was just eighteen years old. Other awards include the 2005 Hooter’s Pro Cup Series start and the 2009 Sprint Cup series win.
Trevor Bayne drives the 21 Ford Fusion. He was the winner of the NACSAR Sprint Cup Series Daytona 500 on February 20, 2011. After they waved checkered flag, his response was “Are you kidding me?”. The only other major win for the Knoxville native was a trucks race in 2008.
